Auditory Short Term Average Energy Spectrum uses time window to smear spectral information to gain average energy This is a useful little function to get average energy from a signal once it has passed through a gammatone filter bank. See my GammaTone function on matlabcentral and also check out the middle ear transfer function.This function gives a nice clear view of energy in each channel rather than basilar membrane motion and allows for excitation patterns to be seen at different epochs. Windows 8 estimates: 500 million users in 2013

Microsoft expects to launch a new wave of optimism with Windows 8. In a recent statement, Steve Ballmer, chief executive at Microsoft, estimates that Windows 8 will reach a total of about 500 million users by the end of 2013.
